"Katrina Expressions 10"

This mixed-media painting includes recycled shutter door, wood, and canvas making the painting stand as a 3D visual piece.

This piece was inspired by the iconic photo of Milvertha Hendricks with an American flag blanket to cover herself while waiting in the rain with other flood victims outside the convention center showing the resilience of people of New Orleans.

The photo was featured in the book "Katrina 5 years and beyond."
